Bill Lord

Bill Lord is a Primary literacy adviser and teacher whose specialism lies in motivating and supporting young learners through the innovative use of ICT. He is privileged to be able to carry out action research in different classrooms exploring how children can become better and more engaged writers and is currently developing approaches to using Games Based Learning to develop mathematical talk.

He is an engaging speaker who, as well as entertaining, has the ability to give strategies and approaches to apply straightaway in the classroom. His previous conference presentations include Lincolnshire in Media Education Conference 2010, Storytyne 2010, Northern Grid Conference 2011, BETT 2010 Seminar, Leicester City Curriculum Design Conference 2010 and the UKLA International Conference 2009. Bill is a co-author of ‘I know what to write now!’ Engaging Boys (and Girls) through a Multimodal Approach (UKLA).

In his spare time Bill is a veteran hammer and discus thrower and cross country runner of little talent. He does, however, excel at dog walking.
